Traders at the Marian market in Calabar, the Cross River state, are currently counting their losses after fire erupted in the market in the early hours of Saturday, July 4.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Reports gathered reveal that items worth millions of Naira including shops have been destroyed by the fire as the fire department couldn’t come in to salvage the situation on time.

Marian market is the second-largest market in the state.
