Nigerian actress, Destiny Amaka, has said that men should not feel threatened by women using sex toys in the bedroom. She stated that, rather, they should complement each other.

She told Saturday Beats, “Sex toys and men should never be in competition. Rather, it should be a partnership. The toys should be an assistant to the men in the bedroom.”

The actress also stated that she could not share her man with other ladies, except he was fine with her doing the same. “I can never respect such a man, unless he is also cool with me actively dating other people,” she said.

Amaka also noted that she was not okay with men asking women what they bring to the table. She said, “Any man that asks what one brings to the table is not a man, and that is not a table you would ever find me on. If a man does not know my value, then he should step aside. It is not by force. A king can never ask such a question, because kings and queens know their roles.”

On what could make her reject a movie role, the actress said, “I can reject a role if I feel that the budget or the role is not right for me.”

Late in 2023, Destiny Amaka, said that being an actress has affected her love life.

She said, “Sadly, Nollywood actresses have a bad reputation, and this affects my love life, but life goes on. I am not here to convince anyone otherwise about me because of my job.”

Amaka also stated that she talks about sex on her podcast, Butterflies in my Peepee’, in a bid to remove the stigma around the subject. She said, “My goal is to eradicate the negative stigma around sex and to educate people. Knowledge is power. Too many homes are broken in Africa today because of sexual abuse and misconduct. We should normalise sex and enforce boundaries.”

Revealing some of the things she does not like about Nollywood, she said, “There are many things wrong with the industry, but I will mention a few. The crew members and those behind the scenes are not usually treated right. They often get neglected and are made to feel lesser than the actors, even though they are the ones that make actors lives better. The level of professionalism is also poor. It is less about auditions, and more about who one knows that gets one far.”

The actress also stated that she had increased her fees in a bid to survive the current economic situation of the country.
