The 2023 overall best UTME candidate Nigeria, Ejikeme Mmesoma Joy, will be honoured in this year’s Anambra Man of the Year Award, the planning committee has announced, as a way to inspire other students in the State to work harder.
The group stated in a statement released to newsmen that Joy Mmesoma will be celebrated among very eminent people from the state in July this year at the annual Anambra Man of the Year Award event.
Mmesoma,a student of the Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, emerged the overall best Student in the 2023 UTME with an aggregate score of 362.
The breakdown of her score is as follows;
English 98, Physics 89, Biology 94 and Chemistry 81.
The award will also recognise and give cash rewards to two other students from the state – Favour Okaforagu and Lotanna Azu Okeke, who also performed well at the examination.
On Mmesoma, the group stated that the student will receive a laptop computer and cash prize to encourage her. The organisation equally “has intention to display her on a billboard at a strategic location in the state.”
They believed that such gesture will motivate Mmesoma to continue to work harder and equally spur other students from the state to emulate her.
“Her remarkable performance is not only commendable, it has brought honour, respect, prestige and glory to the government and people of Anambra state. This is actually what Anambra Man the Year Award stands for – to project our people who are our greatest assets and paint our state in bright colours”. The group said.
Anambra Man of the Year award event is the biggest and most prestigious award event at east of the Niger.
It was conceptualised in 2020 to honour deserving men and women who have made the state proud in their career and vocation.
VFD PLC, one of the foremost financial investment companies in Nigeria; and ANAMMCO Ltd, a top rated, indigenous vehicle manufacturing company with other companies are partners to the event.
