Rivers: 10 APC ward chairmen, leaders, 5,000 APC, SDP members join PDP

Rivers, Nigeria – The drama in River State has just started to unfold, with more to follow in the coming days.

 

Just a few hours after 27 members of the River State House of Assembly cross-carpet to the All Progressive Congress, APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, some members of the River State APC and Social Democratic Party, SDP have staged a counter move.

In the countermove, some prominent members of the APC and SDP in the state have also crossed over to the PDP to pledge their support for the Governor Seminalaye Fubara.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon Princewill Ogbobula echoed the words of the governor, stressing that Fubara has not done anything to warrant impeachment. According to him, up till now nobody has provided the offense the governor has committed to warrant impeachment.

He said the governor has not done anything to warrant impeachment. He pledged to assist the governor in his quest to assist President Tinubu to deliver his mandate. He also condemned the attack on Hon. Edison at his residence.

 

Hon. Haribo Wilson, former Ahoada West CTC Chairman said he is moving to the PDP with 10 APC ward Chairmen, Ward Excos and 10 leaders of APC .

 

Dr. Patricial Ogbonaya, deputy governorship candidate of the SDP, said Fubara has endorsed their son as speaker of River State House of Assembly hence her support.

Hon Oko Jumbo, Bonny State Constituency told the gathering that he is moving to the PDP with over 5,000 decampees from various political parties to support Fubara.

 

While, Hon. Goodboy Sokari, Ahoada West Constituency was also one of the decampees to the PDP at the event where PDP umbrellas and other paraphernalia were handed over to the decampees.

 

Twenty seven (27) members of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The defection letters of the twenty seven Assembly members were read on the floor of the House.
