Still My Take On Senator Ndume’s Suggestion

Ali Ndume, the defender of the North

Senator Ali Ndume’s: In the first place, why should you punish workers for no fault of theirs? Did they choose to be confined at home?

What compensation are you paying to traders and other business people that heavily lost their incomes for being involuntarily confined at home for months? While you took the bread out of the mouths of these traders, Ndume’s allowances are running uninterrupted.

Ndume collects (mark you not earns) N13.5 million allowance monthly as so-called running cost. Is this legalised extortion based on any productivity? I don’t know of any category of servants that receive these outrageous allowances monthly.

Has Ndume stopped collecting his N13.5 million monthly running cost for the love of Nigeria or the masses? Let him first lead by example by persuading his colleagues to drastically cut down these unconscionable allowances.

I have no problem with making sacrifices if the burden of these sacrifices is evenly shared between the leaders and the led. How can feather-bedded elected officials be collecting the so-called hardship allowances while millions of the ordinary people are economically gasping for breath? Which hardship? You can’t be calling for sacrifices from civil servants while you are fleecing the country.
