Comr. Lukman Ahmed hails Alh. Gobir for Transforming Oke-Suna Primary School, Kwara State.
The Freedom Network Group coordinator, on Wednesday, salutes and appreciate the philanthropist, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, the Waziri of Hausa, for his giant strides and effort in transforming Oke- Suna Primary School, describing it as an holistic development in adding value to education sector in the State.
Gobir Foundation, in February 2020, took up the first primary school in Kwara State, Oke-Suna Primary School Ilorin, setting aside N100 million for development of the school over the next five years.
The Oke-Suna Primary School was founded in 1915, a year after the amalgamation of Nigeria and has produced several eminent personalities including the 9th Enir of Ilorin Alhaji Zulukarnaini Gambari.
Alhaji Mohammed Gobir the first Waziri of Ilorin was a head master at the school from 1931 to 1934. The late Ambassador Abubakar Garba Gobir graduated from the school in 1958. He later became a teacher in the school – Alhaji Salihu Gobir was also a head master between 1963 to 1965.
The Gobir family therefore has a very strong affiliation with the school. This explains Waziri Yakubu Gobir’s interest in adopting Okesuna Primary School.
Comrade Lukman O. Ahmed in online chart in Minna, Niger State says “this achievement of Waziri is part of community development through his laudable Foundation. (GOBIR FOUNDATION).”
Comr. Lukman also calls on meaningful individuals in Kwara state to emulate Alh Gobir.
“The effort of Alh Gobir , the Waziri is commendable and should be emulated by well meaningful individuals and corporate organization in the State.”
“We urge the other philanthropist in Kwara State to support the State Government in promoting education sector through their different Foundation because Government can’t do it alone.”
“We pray to Almighty Allah to continue to increase Waziri in wealth & good health to be able to do more.”
Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, was turbanned the first Waziri of Hausaland which means, the Traditional Prime Minister of the Emirate, on Monday, November 19, 2018, at the ancient palace of the Emir of Daura, His Majesty Umar Farouq Umar, it was a grand ceremony.
