Unable to get Tinubu’s attention, unpopular Obaseki restrategises

EDO: The Many alleged Sins of Gov. Godwin Obaseki

… Obaseki runs to Abuja, plans ‘special’ appeal to Buhari

The embattled governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is not having it easy as he seems to be running helter skelter on a daily basis, in an attempt to secure an uncontested (consensus) second term ticket under the All Progressives Congress, APC to contest the forthcoming Edo state gubernatorial election, ChrisOsaMedia media can authoritatively report.

Obaseki, having heavily financed the several failed attempts to oust his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the APC, resorted to blackmailing him using the five star central hospital built and equipped by the past administration which he (Obaseki) was Chairman of the Economic Team, which oversaw the project from start and made several adopted recommendations.

Having done all of these, Obaseki is unable to secure the endorsement and support of the APC National Chairman as he has since lost grip on party faithfuls in the state, following his several threats and open-boasting to fight Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to the end, as according to him, “it is fight to finish.”

The embattled governor, who sees this severe minute as his own last chance to quickly right the wrongs and correct the sins against the Party, attempted to approach National Leader of the party, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but was unable to get his attention to intervene on his (Obaseki) behalf and beg the NWC to adopt his Indirect preferred mode of primaries where he can easily select and manipulate delegates and induce them with money for their votes.

As the time keeps ticking, and with the APC June 22 Primaries just few weeks away, the embattled and unsettled Obaseki is not comfortable with the state of things, hence, his trip to Abuja today, Tuesday the 26th of May, to see the possibility of getting the President’s attention who he claimed have since endorsed him to help negotiate with the APC NWC ably led by Comrade Adams Oshiomole.

Obaseki, who plans to disenfranchise party faithfuls in the state, believes that an open-contest decision will not favour him, as the grassroot members of APC (who are participating) are not pleased with his leadership style, and failed gimmicks, thereby making him unpopular among the vast majority of party faithfuls across the state.
