Celebrated Nigerian Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie was seen on Tuesday, at the court, accompanying Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Baba Ahmed, to the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.

It is an open secret that Adichie had been openly supporting Obi before the election, and Tuesday’s agenda includes the adoption of the final written address by Obi and the legal representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, President Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress.

Recall that Adichie had also openly criticised the manner through which the Presidential Election went. Going even further to Arise Television back then said, Many Nigerians feel cheated about the outcome of the polls.

The Purple Hibiscus author said; “I had been assured that technology would save us and we should also talk about how difficult it was to collect PVCs and how that in itself is a form of voter disenfranchisement,”

“We can’t see them (results) in real time. We cannot see them as Prof. Yakubu Mahmood said. He said I’m going to put it there. I read several times that the public will be able to view that polling unit results as soon as elections are finalised on election day”

Yesterday was the final adoption of a written address by the Obi camp, it therefore isn’t a surprise to see one of Africa’s best authors at such moment, even considering her affiliation with the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
