Ogun Govt. Restates Commitment To World Standards Teaching, Learning

Determined to raise the bar of education in Ogun State, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye has reiterated the commitment of the present administration to consistently invest in teaching and learning, for the delivery of quality and standardised education.

Mrs. Ogunleye, in a statement made available to newsmen by Mr. Ayoola Obadimu, Press Officer, MOES&T, stated this during the 3rd Valedictory and Prize Giving Service of Akin-Ogunpola Model College, Akinale, saying the State government prioritised the education sector, in order to properly shape the lives of the younger generation, noting that the government’s investment and innovations had helped in eradicating poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and social vices challenges.

 

The Permanent Secretary, represented by the Director, Secondary and Higher Education, Mr. Oluwole Majekodunmi said the school system gathered multi-cultured students, promoting mutual understanding among different backgrounds learners, adding that it remains the only way to engender national unity and peaceful co-existence.

She charged the learners to be of good behaviour as they move on the ladder of success in life, enjoining parents to increase their support for the government, to further promote efficient and qualitative education in schools.

Earlier in her remarks, the Principal of the College, Mrs. Olasinbo Adenekan, encouraged the graduating students not to relent in their studies as they look forward to be admitted into higher institutions of learning and avoid bad companies that could truncate promising ambition.

 

Speaking on behalf of other students, the Head Boy and Girl of the College, Ireyinka Ajala and Esther Ogbodo respectively, said the journey to success was not all bed of roses, hence the need for them to strive for excellence, appreciating the government and the school administrators for productive and standardised learning enjoyed during the period of their studentship.
