In the face of the palpable tension and turmoil that has taken over the country following the activities of hoodlums and criminals who have taken advantage of the #EndSARS protest to unleash mayhem, the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in his usual but deceptive style, has continued to play politics with people’s lives, all in his bid to score cheap political points.

In the last 72 hours, despite bombarding the social media with claims that he has single-handedly doused the tension in his senatorial constituency, his home town, Nnewi and Anambra South has become the epicentre of the reign of terror by hoodlums, who have continued unabated in burning down and looting police stations, killing policemen and also looting of people’s shops.

In the guise of saving Nnewi and environs from the breakdown of law and order, Ifeanyi Ubah has both directly and indirectly escalated and promoted the anarchy that has been unleashed on his people.

It all started on Thursday morning, October 22nd, when the Senator in his nuisance style invaded the meeting of Nnewi Youths convened by the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, which was targeted at calming the nerves of the youths to avoid the wanton destruction of properties, following the Wednesday night attack on Nnewi Central Police Station.

On arrival, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah immediately hijacked the meeting and told the youths to follow him around the town and other neighbouring communities including his intended visit to different police stations to avert further damages, thereby ending the sensitisation meeting abruptly.

In what can be described as sheer stupidity, Ifeanyi Ubah led the army of youths to the different police stations in the guise of restoring normalcy, before he could arrive Nnewi Area Command, some youths he camped at Nnewi High School had already invaded the station, trying to overpower the policemen, leading to the death of one of the youth. In retaliation, the youths burnt down the station, carting away motorcycles and other valuable in the station.

As Senator Ubah in his celebrity manner moved across the streets of other communities acknowledging chants, the youths moved to Otolo Nnewi Police Station and attempted to burn down the Station, despite pleas, the youths moved into the station, carted away with valuables and also set the police vehicles on fire, after being fed at Nnewi High School by Ifeanyi Ubah.

Despite a lot of concocted lies, Ifeanyi Ubah is selling in the media, in a desperate bid to claim a non-existent success of how he has been able to douse the tension on social media, the hoodlums have continued to have a field day as they have continued to unleash terror.

On Friday, October 23rd, different police stations in Anambra South including Osumenyi, Ukpor, Ezenife, Amichi, Ozubulu, Oraifite and Ichi was razed by these same hoodlums Ifeanyi Ubah claimed to have calmed down and which resulted to the death of five (5) policemen and about three innocent youths. All the shops around Nnewi Central Police Station have been looted. As all these were happening on Friday, Ifeanyi Ubah remained silently in his house.

An unconfirmed report from some of these hoodlums indicates that the Senator instigated the attacks on these stations on Friday in a bid to put fear among residents so he can come back and play his usual dum tufu dum cho. Okuo kpom na ofia, ogbaputa na ezi juba onye na aku. Too bad.

It is also important to note that before he kicked off that useless campaign tour, only CPS had been burnt a night before. After his so-called bouncing of tension tour, the full-blown carnage and terror was unleashed on Nnewi and it’s environs with many lives lost. Yet instead, Ifeanyi igba oso ochu…he unleashed his media errand boys to saturate the cyberspace with white lies with a view to blinding the public to the fact that his stupid tour caused the terror on Nnewi and neighbouring communities. It is on record that Nnewi and environs are the worst hit in this invasions courtesy of a man who can do anything to boost his notoriety (sorry, popularity) in furtherance of his inordinate ambition to ruin Anambra. Oraifite was peaceful until Ifeanyi visited Oraifite Town Hall. Same with Ozubulu, and areas attacked in Nnewi South.

So what success is Ifeanyi Ubah claiming to have achieved with his so-called intervention moves, if not an attempt to undermine the lives of his constituents for score cheap political points?

In a sane clime, Ifeanyi should be under arrest by now for infuriating the invaders to descend on Nnewi and environs so badly leading to loss of many lives and property.
