In what initially looked like “A Clash of the Titans”, the FC Ifeanyi Ubah, popularly called The Anambra Warriors, on Monday afternoon, had a smooth ride in defeating the acclaimed ‘indomitable’ Katsina United FC.
The tension-soaked first half, saw its deadlock broken when Emmanuel Uchegbu scored the in the 24th minute of play.
Although Katsina United FC came into the second half of the match fully determined to equalise the FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s lead, their dogged effort ended up being a mere ‘flash in the pan’ as the tension was doused by Nonso Nzediegwu who meandered his way to score a consolidating goal in the 49th minute of the match!
The unmerciful Anambra Warriors, not yet satisfied, recorded yet another goal in the 59th minute of play through the synergetic efforts of the entire forward and midfield players in a sizzling counter attack capped by another unique finishing from Emmanuel Uchegbu.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah( Anambra Warriors), which is presently the most distinguished privately owned/funded football club in the Nigeria Professional Football League, also got an away draw in their last outing in far away Adamawa State where they went to engage the Adamawa United.
