Bola Tinubu, a Billionaire Without Business – Dino Melaye

Kogi: Why Dino Failed...

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, is accused of amassing riches without having a legitimate business to cite, according to Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for the Atiku presidential campaign organization.

In an interview with the Newsmen on Saturday, the former lawmaker who represented the Kogi West senatorial constituency made this statement.

Melaye pointed out that the former governor of Lagos State denied ownership of Alpha Beta, which would have been a way for him to increase his riches.

He added that TVC and The Nation newspaper are the only businesses with which Tinubu has been associated.

The former lawmaker made this claim while defending Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, regarding how he increased his riches.

Melaye added that Tinubu in the past thirty to forty years has not added to his educational knowledge.

He said, “The difference is that Atiku is a billionaire with an enterprise; you can see him in manufacturing, logistics, banking, education, oil and gas; you can see him even in humanities but Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a billionaire without an enterprise.

“What can you associate with Tinubu? He even denied the ownership of Alpha Beta. The only two things he admitted he runs are The Nation newspaper and TVC. So, we are talking about [Tinubu] a billionaire without an enterprise and [Atiku] a billionaire with an enterprise who has succeeded, who is a major employer of labour in this country.

“Over the years, he has managed the businesses into successes and these businesses have grown to become intercontinental. Atiku understands the dynamics of the economy. He understands the private sector. He understands what liberalisation of our economy will bring for us. He understands what the privatisation of our economy will bring for us.

“He understands the role of the private sector in the modern-day economy. He knows the pros and cons of the economy. Now, he has gone to garnish his knowledge with Masters in International Relations and Diplomacy from a university in Cambridge. He has updated his education. Has Tinubu gone back to school since he left school 30-40 years ago?”
