The singer had earlier scheduled the project’s release for July but failed to meet the deadline and consequently announced a new date.

Earlier on New York Times, the 27-year-old musician said “A Better Time,” has become a protest song for Nigerians demonstrating against police brutality.

On November 11th he twittted –

This year we’ve been through crazy times. And through it all, we’ve all had to look inwards to find hopes of better times ahead. I found a few. In human and creative form. I’m so glad I can finally share them with you. I present ‘A Better Time’ out 13/11/20 00:00

To Times, Davido says, “Before the whole matter gets dangerous/You need to make sure you don’t say too much.” Protesters have sung “Fem” in the faces of police and government officials.”

He continued, ““They kept on saying, ‘Yeah, but give us time, give us time,’” Davido recalled. “But it’s like, yo, we’ve given you time. You have to understand people have been fighting this system since 1960. It’s long overdue. And it doesn’t even end with SARS. EndSARS is one of a million problems.”

The album has been described as “Mature”.
