EKWUEME title conferred on John Nwokoye for 100days achievements

The HRH Igwe Ezekwesili Ezechukwuchili Mmaduagwuna, Ofemili 1 of Awba-Ofemili, in celebrating the 2019 New Yam (Iri Ji)Festival, on Sunday, 27th October, conferred the Chieftaincy title of EKWUEME 1 N’ AWBA-OFEMILI on Hon. John Nwokoye, the House Member representing Awka North Constituency, Anambra State, for his sterling performance, so far, at the State House of Assembly.

Presenting the certificate before a mammoth crowd of ndi Awba-ofemili and invited guests, Igwe Mmaduagwuna noted that the deserving Chieftaincy title was in recognition of Hon. John Nwokoye humanitarian gesture and services to the social economic development of Awba-ofemili.

In particular, Igwe Mmaduagwuna highlighted the unprecedented achievements of Hon. Nwokoye in his First 100 days in office, which include given an Indigene of Awba-ofemili scholarship that runs from Secondary to University level; provision of drugs worth millions of Naira to the Primary Health Centre there and the motions he moved for the quick attention of Awka North roads.

The vibrant and quintessential lawmaker who was humbled by the recognition, noted while receiving the certificate that he had no clue he was going to receive such honour, as he was kept in the dark till the last minute.

According to him, he honoured the invitation of the Iri Ji by the Igwe, just like every other person, but Igwe Mmaduagwuna and the people of Awba-ofemili had a surprise package for him.

“The Chieftaincy title given to me today by the Igwe and the people of Awba-ofemili, will serve as a catalyst for me to serve the interest of my people more” he stated.

Hon. John Nwokoye thereafter pray that Igwe’s stay on the throne shall witness more abundant progress for the people of Awba-ofemili, and he shall live long.

The lawmaker was accompanied by APGA party chieftains, which include; Hon. Nchekwube Dunga Anthony, the State Auditor of the party; Hon. Uzorma Mbonu, the LG Party Chairman.
