The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Health Insurance Agency – ASHIA, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi is currently hosting the Executive Secretary of Gombe State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Abdulrahaman Shuaibu, Cordinator of NHIS, Gombe State, Alhaji Musa Abdulhakeem and other members from Gombe state.

They are in the state to understudy the ‘magic’ being adopted by the scheme and other health packages in the state that catapulted it to the top position within one year of its establishment.

Anambra State Health Insurance Agency was launched on 14th September, 2018 by Gov. Willie Obiano and the scheme has registered over 70000 persons both from formal and informal sectors.

The scheme under Dr. Onyemaechi’s watch initiated and implemented what has come to be known as ‘adoption model’ that allows wealthy individuals in the state to sponsor their friends, relatives and towns people under the agency by paying premiums for that.
