Founder and Leader of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, have adviced couples to divorce if the marriage is not working.
“What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” verse in the Bible which Christians believe is a key Bible verse to deter couples from getting divorce has a different interpretation nowadays.
Many Christians have determined to keep their marriages to glorify God and their families because of this Bible verse.
But Bishop Daniel Obinim has said there is specific explanation of “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” therefore couples should not deceive themselves.
Preaching at his church, Bishop Obinim stated that anybody who is not happy in his marriage should seek for divorce.
He revealed that not every marriage is ordained by God so there is no need to stay with your wife or husband if you are feeling the impartation of marriage.
Obinim warned his church members that whenever he asked any couple to seek for divorce they should not hesitate to heed to his advice.
“Let me know your problems and give directions, if there is any problem in your work places, marriages or homes let me know. If I ask you to divorce do it. Don’t tell me the Bible says the Lord is against divorce, do you know what divorce is? Many people say “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” is your marriage joined together by God? the Bible verse that says what God hath joined together is not this type of your marriage” Bishop Obinim emphasized.
“Couples who fail to talk to each other for weeks because of anger are joined by God? Do you know about marriage joined by God? Look, come and let me tell you the real meaning of that verse” He said.
According to his explanation of marriage joined by God, if a couple offended each other, they can’t sleep at night until they apologise to each other and seek for reconciliation.
“Marriage that is joined by God if the man makes a mistake against the woman or the woman makes a mistake against the man, he or she can’t sleep. Some men even say I won’t eat my wife food and some women say I don’t care about my husband, I don’t respect him”
“Marriage that is joined by God if the man offends the woman, his business stands still and experiences financial obstacles and begins to face problems” Obinim indicated.
Meanwhile, a renowned Gospel musician, Mrs Florence Obinim, has said despite the fact that people expect her to abandon her marriage due to the numerous scandals her husband, Angel Obinim has been involved in, nothing in this world can influence her mind.
According to Mrs. Obinim, it is not on her part to judge any human being, adding that everyone is responsible for his or her salvation.
Buttressing her point, she quoted the part of the Bible (Luke 17:34) that says; “On that night, I tell you, there will be two people sleeping in the same bed: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.”
