Police Barricades Eko bridge, shoot teargas at Protesters in Ojota

Security operatives have barricaded the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos State, where some residents planned to protest.

The every-busy Ikorodu road is deserted as traders have closed shops while a few vehicles are on the road.
Most residents have chosen to stay indoors, apparently to prevent being caught in any clash between security operatives and protesters.
Citing the rising insecurity and economic hardship, protesters had fixed June 12, Nigeria’s Democracy Day, for the protest.
But the police have repeatedly warned that protest would not be allowed in any part of the state.
Popularly known as Freedom Park, the Gani Fawehinmi Park was where the massive Occupy Nigeria protest held in 2012. It shook the government of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. Meanwhile, there is normalcy in most parts of Lagos State.
Also Protesters at Ojota are being Teargass and shot at by the Nigeria men in Uniform, People in Mile12 are currently complaining on how Agberos are robbing people and there are no police men or women to protect the people. It is becoming glaring to Nigerians that the police are not at the protest to protect the citizens but deprived them of the fundamental right to protest.
While Eko bridge has face lot of robbery activities throughout the week without any support of protection from the Nigeria Police, today June 12, hundred of policemen are at the same spot to teargas and shoot at innocent protesters who are excercising their fundamental human right.
While the Policemen after a while left the protester due to their Inability to mare their voice, Park operators are Ojota are currently harrassing the protesters.
