The management of singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad has released an official statement confirming his passing away.

The short statement posted on both his Instagram and X handles said “It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023.

“Mohbad was light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at Peace”

Mohbad left Naira Marley’s label acrimoniously in 2022 amidst concerns about his mental health.

His friend and colleague, Bella Shmurda in an interview with Chude Jideonwo detailed how the late singer battled depression and almost committed suicide.

In his last interview in 2023, Mohbad alleged that his former label were blocking show promoters from contacting him.

He added that he found out from a popular show promoter.

The talented 27-year-old singer, known for his unique baritone and beautiful songs like “Ask About Me”, “Pariwo”, and “Peace”, passed away, leaving fans and fellow celebrities in shock and grief.

While the circumstances of Mohbad’s passing remain undisclosed, his legacy as a gifted artist remains intact, and his beautiful baritone will continue to be remembered by Nigerian music lovers and his fans.
