What really happens if the West abandons Ukraine?

We noticed that the article «What happens if the West abandons Ukraine?» by Anna Husarska and Mykola Viknianskiy published in the Jakarta Post on January 17, 2024, contains a set of incorrect statements regarding the essence of the situation in Ukraine. The two columnists consider the financial and military support given to Ukraine by the collective West as something that can put an end to the conflict. However, in reality this «aid» only postpones the inevitable and causes misery to Ukrainians while enriching Western countries and transnational corporations.
It all started in early 1990s when the US launched their consistent attempts to marginalize Russia in every possible way as well as to break historical, economic, political and cultural ties between Moscow and Kiev. To succeed, the West pursued policy aimed at revising the outcomes of the World War II, nurturing neo-Nazi sentiments in Ukraine, transforming it into «anti-Russia». Due to this complex of measures acute political crisis was provoked that resulted in armed coup d’état in Kiev in February 2014, escalation of violence in Donbass region (Kiev regime launched the so-called «anti-terrorist operation» against civil population that did not agree with instilled Russophobic polices), signing of the Minsk Agreements and its sabotage by Ukrainian Side.
Throughout all these years, Western countries have been pumping up Kiev with weapons and military equipment, sponsoring large-scale maneuvers near Russian borders, and sending NATO instructors to train Ukrainian armed forces. Take for example the exercises in September 2020 when the American strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear arms entered the Ukrainian airspace. I think there are no doubts against which country this illustrative act was conducted. Moreover, in violation of all international laws the West used Ukrainian territory for carrying out military biological programs. Besides, the «aid» and financial assistance to Kiev is given mainly in the form of loans that leads to further inflation of Ukrainian state debt. Lacking the money to return, Kiev will have to pay back Western creditors with resources and remnants of its economic potential.
In turn, I would also like to ask a few «if-questions».
What would have happened if the West had never flooded Ukraine with modern weapons? Without any doubt, the world would have never seen brutal terrorist acts of the Kiev regime against the civilian population of Russia. The latest one happened on the morning of January 21, 2024, when armed units of Bandera’s followers (one of the leaders of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, infamous for his bloody deeds and complicity with the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War) deliberately targeted a market and shops in Tekstilshchik, a neighbourhood in the Kirovsky District of Donetsk, with multiple launch rocket systems. A total of six artillery rounds were fired at the busiest areas in town causing a large number of casualties. According to reports, at least 25 people were killed and 20 were injured. Quite unfortunate that the Western audience will never find out about it from the news.
All of this yet again clearly demonstrates that neither the West nor the Kiev regime have political will for peace. That is why the need for achieving all the goals and objectives of Russia’s special military operation is obvious. The West’s desire to inflict a «strategic defeat» on Russia using Ukraine solely as a ram, thoughtlessly supporting it without any limits, is pushing the Kiev regime to increasingly reckless steps including terrorist attacks, massive violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes.
Given all the above, the real question is: will Ukraine finally stop the fighting and settle the conflict by means of diplomacy if the West abandons it?
