A man has gained the respect of social media users after footage of him calmly continuing to eat chicken wings during an armed robbery went viral.
CCTV footage shows the man tucking into his wings at a restaurant moments before a man in a motorcycle helmet wielding a gun enters.
The man, wearing a FILA hoodie, barely reacts as the thief appears to rip a chain from his neck before pointing the gun in his face.
The bandit, who appears to be armed with a small pistol, waves his gun around while gesturing at diners to hand over their belongings. All the while, the man continues enjoying his wings.
He briefly pauses to casually pass his phone over to the robber, before taking another bite as if he didn’t have a care in the world.
According to DailyMail, the robber then takes a few more items from the restaurant’s patrons before leaving.
The man’s cool demeanour is in sharp contrast to some of the other diners, who fled or began hiding their belongings when the gunman appeared.
It is not clear where the robbery took place, though the CCTV footage suggests it was likely in a Spanish-speaking country.
The footage is dated 09:44pm on June 17 and marked ‘JUE’, which stands for ‘jueves’ – Thursday in Spanish. It has been shared widely on social media, where users have been impressed and amused by the man’s cool exterior.
‘He passes that phone like you pass your phone to a buddy that’s going to swipe for you on Tinder,’ one wrote of the man’s unfazed actions.
‘This dude is probably an OG who’ll make the robber dig his own grave after he’s done with his wings,’ another wrote.
‘If i were to rob someone and he just stood perfectly calm and followed my commands while eating his food, i would prob be scared of him,’ a third wrote.
While most were engrossed by the mystery man’s ability to keep calm under pressure, and trading theories about his identity, others felt there was a more pressing matter at hand.
‘Everyone enjoy their food during the robbery, i think this restaurant have the best chicken in the world… Anyone have the adress[sic]?’ one man wrote.
