The Association of Anambra State Students in Nigeria and Diaspora (AASSNID), has commended the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah OON (OMU), for sponsoring the novel Wendy Linda Essay Writing Competition.
According to the President of AASSNID, Chwukuka Igwe, and his counterpart, the President of National Association of Anambra Law Students (NAALS), Senator Oduah gave the event life.
Recall this event was put together on behalf of of late Wendy Ebenezer Linda, a brilliant final year student of Management and Accounting, OAU, who was killed by a trailer in 2019 at Mayfair, a busy bus-stop in Ile-Ife. And as a woman who supports other women – in life and in ‘memory’ – Senator Stella Oduah made herself available as official sponsor for this educative event.
The competition took place in July; of two categories: one for Anambra indigenes and the other for non-indegenes. The topic for the former was “Grassroot Politics and the Ignorance of the People to Government: Are the People of Anambra Politically Conscious?”, while the later was “The Impact of Socio-Cultural Value on Igbo Society”.
According to President Igwe, the winners for the 2020 Essay Writing Competition are –
- Ucheakonam Chijoke Joshua (1st)
- Chigozie Precious Nneka (2nd) and
- Amobi Alvina (3rd) for the first category while
- Edeh Obianuju Jacintha (1st)
- Nwaumere Desmond Onyeama (2nd) and
- Ezeigbo Chioma (3rd) won the second category.
According to President Chwukuka Igwe, “The winners have been awarded with cash prizes and are currently undergoing free training with Leanaholic Academy Africa”.
“I also want to appreciate other esteemed supporters of the project, Indus Maga Farm and Engineer Jonathan Udemba”, he added.
Senator Stella Adaeze Oduah was also a former Minister of Aviation in Nigeria and reputable philanthropist towards grassroot growth.
