The 7 REASONS NIGERIANS HAVE REJECTED THE 1999 CONSTITUTION.

1. All the 36 STATES in that Constitution was created by NORTHERN MILITARY HEAD OF STATES namely Gen Yakubu Gowon, Gen Murtala Muhammed, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, Gen Sani Abacha.

2. The Northern Generals created 19 States out of ONE REGION i.e the NORTHERN REGION. They created 17 STATES from 3 REGIONS the EAST, WEST and MIDWEST.

3. No other FAITH is mentioned in the 1999 CONSTITUTION aside from ISLAM. CHRIST, CHRISTIANITY and CHRISTIAN was not mentioned ONCE.
SHARIA was mentioned 73 TIMES. Grand KHADI 54 TIMES, ISLAM 28 TIMES, MUSLIM 10 TIMES. Yet Nigeria is a SECULAR STATE.

4. The CONSTITUTION was written solely by a FULANI Professor Auwalu Yadudu.

5. The CONSTITUTION was not written by the People of NIGERIA. It is a military DECREE. “We cannot continue to be governed by a MILITARY DECREE.”

6. When each of the 3 regions were financially sustainable, the North had the lowest Number of Local Government. Today , with the 1999 UNITARY CONSTITUTION of money sharing Federal Allocation . The North created 419 LOCAL GOVERNMENT for the NORTH and 355 LGAs for the South. It shows clearly that “what we have is a 419 Constitution.”

7. The North has Sharia law that bans public consumption of ALCOHOL in the same North yet the largest recipient of VAT generated from ALCOHOLIC DRINKS companies in the South. The 1999 CONSTITUTION had made the NORTH to be PARASITE and the SOUTH the HOST. The NORTH generates less than 10% into the Federal Government IGR yet gets more Federal Allocation than the SOUTH. The 1999 CONSTITUTION will only POSTPONE the evil day. Nigeria needs a new Constitution that PREVENTS the evil day.
