About Smuggling of Herdsmen to Southern Nigeria – Opinion
It is becoming clear to all that something is fishing about the smuggling of herdsmen in trailers and containers in between live stocks and perishable food items being brought to Southern Nigeria.
All Southern Nigeria Governors and infact every one from the South should join Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state ask Northern Elders and their Governors why the mass exodus to the South despite state border lockdown?
Let us not make Gov. Wike of Rivers State look confrontational by keeping quiet and allow strangers and marauders take our God given and ancestral land.
Our unborn generations will not forgive us if we allow what happened in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Libya to happen to us in the South.
If Northern Governors can come together to speak with one voice that they were not going to lock down the North because farming was their main occupation when states in other parts of the country were locking down to contain the spread of the virus, why can’t Southern Governors do same by speaking with one voice that there should be no movement of persons from the North to the South or South to North for now because of the ravaging disease ?
Corona virus does not move on its own. It move with people. Am not happy and comfortable with the role most security agents, who are mostly of the Northern stock are playing by allowing Almajiris, herdsmen and others from the North into the South despite the closure of most States’ borders in the South.
