Anambra Oxygen, now through Health Commissioner

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has directed that in line with the State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all general hospitals and primary health care centres in the state that require medical oxygen should apply immediately through the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, State Secretariat, Awka.



According to the announcement made through the Managing Director, Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant, Dr OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, “This offer of free medical oxygen for general hospitals and primary health care centres in Anambra state is for a period of 2 months, with effect from the 27th of May, 2020.”

The plant which is currently the biggest in the South East, was built primarily to meet local demands from medical installations in Anambra.

 

Its installation had been strategically sited within the premises of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka.
