APPOINTMENT AND INAUGURATION OF EDFA OF NDDC BY SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO

The appointment and subsequent inauguration of Mr Effiong Akwa to replace the late Hon Ibanga Etang as Ag. EDFA of the NDDC by the Hon Minister of Niger delta affairs, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, means a lot.

It means the fierce campaign of calumny waged against the Hon Minister and the IMC of the Commission by some dubious and unscrupulous elements with a view to scuttling the forensic audit of the Commission were efforts in futility.

It means all the balderdash fabricated and trended on the social media platforms to rubbish and hunt down Senator Godswill Akpabio and the IMC of the Commission were efforts in futility.

It means against the expectations and machinations of those who turned the Commission to their cash cow and ATM, the IMC of the Commission stays till December when a substantive board will be constituted, and forensic audit of the Commission is on course and cannot be scuttled.

We congratulate Mr Effiong Akwa on his appointment and subsequent inauguration as Ag. EDFA of the Commission. Given his profile and background,there is no doubt that he is a square peg in a square hole. We pray God to grant him the grace to succeed.

We appreciate the Hon Minister of Niger delta affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio for his efforts to ensure that the Commission is cleansed up and repositioned to achieve its core mandate as ordered by Mr President. We appreciate his resilience,courage,brilliance ,capacity and political dexterity.No weapon fashioned against him shall prosper.

We are happy that Mr President couldn’t be moved by the antics of those who stole our development over the years.
