Who is Caligerian?

Oyo State born artiste, Adedayo Aluko, simply known as Caligerian has defined music as as ‘pieces of sounds put together to create unity’. Another dimension to the art which have been used to reach out to millions. With thousands of vocalists coming out and evolving daily, we are comfortable introducing C A L I gerian to the list.

 

“My music is centered on creating togetherness and promoting love among artists and also taking Afro music in general to another level,” Caligerian once said to The Nations, a national publication medium in Nigeria. The artiste is bent on making a huge impact with his music by promoting love among other artistes and also taking his genre to another level.

 

The Nigerian-born American soldier and musician is also the first Nigeria to combine Nigerian Afro sound with Korean sound through significant collaborations with popular Korean Music artistes.

Background/Early Life

Caligerian who hails from Ibadan is the third child of four siblings. Growing up as a teenager, he was loved by people due to his involvement in engaging kids in the game of soccer while he was in Ekiti state before relocating to California, USA. He is currently a soldier with the United States Army (since 2015) and is currently based in Germany.

 

Music/Career

He is a singer and songwriter aimed at promoting togetherness and love among soldiers, countries and music lovers. He believes taking Afro music across world will solve a lot of racial problems. With hit songs – “Alright”, “Pressure”, “No Play”, “On Point”, “Holy Water” “Oga Musa” and “Dropin Na Pass”; the afro-creator have come to stay.

He has worked with several Nigerian artistes like Buckwylla, T Classic, Yonda , Terry Apala, Yovi, Slimcase, Mr Real and Sugarbana; and hope to have a collaboration or two with Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Olamide someday.

 

C A L I gerian started music in 2018; first song was “No Play” featuring Buckwylla and Tclassic as produced by Mobo beat in Lagos Nigeria. He finds inspiration through love for music and this he uses to control depression, which sometimes comes from PTSD during military deployment.

 

Hit singles from his list of released songs are currently enjoying airplay across many music platforms within and outside the country. He currently (January 2022) has no album or Ep.



He is particularly inspired by Burna boy – “his consistency and dedication never to give up, also his vibe and love for his fans and for his support for upcoming talents.”

 

Afro music is taking over the world and so is Caligerian.

 

“I have been to clubs full of Koreans and all you hear is Afro music, and even, they know all our Afrocentric dances, it’s just so Amazing.”

 

“I’m working towards Collaborating with some high clad korean Hip pop artists, like Yumda and Uneducatedkids”, he once said to Vanguard, another national publication in Nigeria.
