Chef Hilda Baci has defended her way of dressing, saying it doesn’t determine where she is in life.

The cook was lambasted after old videos and photos of her in revealing outfits popped up on the internet after her cooking marathon.

Hilda Baci became popular after her cooking Marathon to break the 2019 longest cooking hours by an individual.

A Nigerian Pastor accused Ms Baci of not selling only food.

According to the preacher, he claimed that no matter the record one breaks, people will always know they are selling other things aside food.

He said one’s dressing can reveal more about the person.

The pastor said no matter the record the chef breaks, one can know a “demon girl” from her dressing.

While speaking to the media in Lagos, the young chef stated that one may appear seductive and still be a game changer.

She appealed to Nigerians to see beyond her dressing but to project her ingenuity and doggedness to place Nigeria on the global map.

She said, “I don’t have to be dressed like a nun to make it in life. One can be sexy and still amazing, beautiful, and smart. I shouldn’t be taken back because of my looks or dressing as this does not determine my values or endowment.”

“I’ve volunteered myself to say I slay and I have something up in the brain.”

Revealing her next line of action, the world record breaker said she looked forward to propagating Nigerian recipes globally, expanding her restaurant and to enlarge the narratives of Nigerian Culinary space.

She disclosed however that embarking on her next step remained a source of anxiety for her.

She said, “By expanding my business, I want to create jobs and contribute meaningfully to the economy. I’m anticipating a situation where the earnings of chefs in Nigeria will be as competitive as employees in the oil company.

“I feel the culinary space is under-rated, I want to change the narratives. I intend to work with a lot of brands to add value to their customers and brands towards their sustainability.”

Meanwhile, Hilda ‘Baci’ Bassey has stated her plans of organising a Cookathon festival internationally.

Hilda was questioned about the prospect of another Guinness World Record attempt in a recent interview with TheCable Lifestyle. Baci said she has no plans breaking another world record at the moment.

“To the best of my knowledge right now, I do not intend to attempt another record. At least, it is not something I am thinking about.

“It took a lot of thought and planning. It was a huge investment”.

Baci also elaborated on her vision of converting her cook-a-thon into a festival.

“So, in terms of now making it into something, I want to make the ‘cook-a-thon’ turn into more like a festival that happens in probably in different countries,” she said.

“That is something I am open to. I am now reaching out to these brands, and saying, ‘Oh, we have worked on this before’. Now, this is something that I am trying to do.”

The chef also revealed that a documentary is in the works so people can see her “beautiful story”.

“We are working on a documentary as well. Because I feel like it was important that people must see all this.

“I feel like it is important that people actually see the process because it is honestly a very beautiful story. I think more people deserve to see it holistically, not just little clips on social media,* she said.
