A human rights body under the aegis of the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has urged the Osun State House of Assembly under the leadership of Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun to caution the State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke against involvement in contemptuous action on the allege proposed coronation for a deposed new Alawo of Awo, Mr. Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq after the Appeal Court Judgement of Akure Judicial Division had sacked him.

 

The rights group also demanded from the State House of Assembly to investigate the alleged forgery scandal rocking the Alawo Chieftaincy Stool, adding that it was alleged that the deposed Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq forged every relating documents used by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola to impose him as monarch (Oba) which Appeal Court through its landmark Judgement dated 8th of August,2020 had nullified in Appeal N0:CA/AK/58/2021 where Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq was an Appellant.

It added that the alleged forgery saga was ranging from falsification of age, perjury, identity theft of another person Certificates, forgery of selection documents/minutes, and other fake and forged documents attached to Adegboye’s Expression of Interest Form Number:000000114, insisting that the allegations were weighty to be swept under the carpet and the Assembly comprises of representatives of the good people from the State Constituency should Investigate it to unravel the whole truth of the saga in order to save Adeleke’s Government from being accomplice.

 

According to the Letter dated Monday 27th of November,2023 and signed by the CHRSJ’s Assistant General Secretary (AGS) which the copies were made available to newsmen on Monday, Pastor Michael Agassi, disclosed that Adegboye was also imposed on the stool by Oyetola with revoked Chieftaincy Declaration of 1957 instead of 1979 Alawo of Awo Chieftaincy Declaration and in flagrant disobedience to Court Orders which made Appeal Court to declare such an action as illegal, null and void,adding that this would be another way by enemies within to stigmatize the Adeleke’s Government as lawless, disrespecter of rule of law and government of impunity.

 

Pastor Agassi stated that it was very unfortunate that Governor Ademola Adeleke could be mislead by the political marauders because of their selfish interest to dabble into the matter that was ongoing before the Supreme Court of Nigeria where Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq was also the Appellant but was not ready to wait for Supreme Court pronouncements on the matter.

He further stated that Adegboye and his cohorts were trying to use all the political inuendos to make the State Government under Governor Adeleke to be contemnor before the Supreme Court of Nigeria in SC/CV/1079/2022 in order to impose him(Adegboye) on the stool at all cost as the State Government through the State Attorney-General were tongue-lashing by the Appeal Court sitting in Akure as contained therein via Appeal Court Judgement. It is the law that a decision of a Court of competent jurisdiction,no matter that if seems palpable null and void, unattractive or unsupportable, remains good law and uncompromisingly binding until set aside by a superior Court of competent jurisdiction”.

The above named human right organization, brings fraternal GREETINGS to you and other members of the state House of Assembly in the current dispensation.

 

CHRSJ as human rights body also extends its congratulatory message to you on your election as Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly in overall interest of the good people of the State and it is our believe that this petition falls under your purview because of the beneficiary attempt to be drawing money from Government purse.

There is the need for the State House of Assembly to raise POINT of ORDER to caution the State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke against involvement in contemptuous action in respect of the Appeal Court Judgement in Appeal N0: CA/AK/58/2021 on HOS/84/2020 on Alawo Chieftaincy Stool.

 

The purpose of writing the State House of Assembly under your watch is to help the good people of Awo Community nay Osun State in line with the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,because the State House of Assembly is comprising the representatives of the people from State Constituency and to setup Investigation Panel to unravel the identity of those who behind the FORGERY of Selection Documents/Minutes, FALSIFICATION of Dates of Birth and Identity THEFT of POLYTECHNIC Notification of Results, NYSC Certificate with other fake and forged documents attached to Expression of Interest Form Number: 000000114,for the purpose of selecting new monarch in ancient town of Awo and filling of the vacant Stool of Alawo of Awo in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State.

 

Sir, we are constrained to also write this PETITION LETTER to your humble office requesting for THOROUGH, CREDIBLE and UNBIASED INVESTIGATION into the allegations to be stated below for possible PROSECUTION of the CULPRITS involved in forgery of Selection DOCUMENTS/MINUTES, FALSIFICATION of AGE and IDENTITY THEFT of Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate among other relating documents USED for the illegal appointment and subsequent installation of one Honourable? ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ, a deposed new Alawo of Awo because he still parading himself as new monarch of the town in flagrant disregard to Judgement of the Appeal Court by subjecting the ancient town of Awo to a big disgrace and laughing stock among the comity of the communities in Osun State nay Nigeria. Attached is the Certified True Copy of the Enrollment of Judgement of the Appeal Court of Akure Judicial Division dated 8th August,2022, which SACKED and DEPOSED Adegboye for being the beneficiary of the forgery act, falsification of Age, identity THEFT and other criminal documents submitted to Local and State Government for the purpose of selecting/or electing for the Stool of Alawo as Evidence (1).

 

It is to bring to your NOTICE that ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ could not have carried out the FORGERY action without aiding and abetting of the few Staff of Egbedore Local Government, Awo, and in particular,the Secretary, ABIOYE Ruling House/Compound, Awo, Osun State, Alhaji (Prince) Abidoye Hamzat Gboyelade/Prince (Alhaji) Hamzat Abidoye/Hamsat Abidoye who is claiming different signatures on the same documents using for illegal selection/or election, appointment, approval and subsequent installation of ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ with the sole aim of withdrawing monthly salary from the allocation of the State and Local Government fraudulently if not nip in the bud by the Appeal Court Judgement, which CHRSJ wants the State House of Assembly to investigate for possible PROSECUTION of the CULPRITS.

 

It is also to bring to your NOTICE that the PARTICULARS of FORGERY DOCUMENTS was discovered through all the documents attached by ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ to his Expression of Interest Form Number: 000000114, in respect of Alawo Stool which he used to mislead the Osun State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Government Secretariat, Abeere, Osun State to appoint him as monarch illegally.

The documents also submitted to Osun State High Court,Ede Judicial Division to get favourable judgement in Suit N0: HED/26/2020.

PARTICULARS OF FORGERY are different thumbprint impressions and signatures on the SELECTION DOCUMENTS/MINUTES, FALSIFICATION of DATES of BIRTH, identity THEFT of Polytechnic Notification of Results and PERJURY before the Court, which was used for illegal selection, election, appointment, approval and subsequent installation exercise on the subject matter. The FORGERY documents attached to this PETITION LETTER are highlighted below;

-The Certified True Copy of Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq’s Expression of Interest Form Number: 000000114, to fill the vacant stool of Alawo with different thumbprint impression and signature of Secretary, Abioye Ruling House/Compound,Awo. Attached as Evidence (2).

-The Certified True Copy of the Covering Letter with Reference N0:ELG.396/T/28B,dated 24st August,2020 and signed by one Mrs. Olabimtan F. Abiola, the Council Manager for Chairman Egbedore Local Government,Awo with attachment of Selection Minutes with different thumbprint impression, signatures and typing characters. Attached as Evidence (3).

-The Certified True Copy of another Covering Letter with the same Reference N0:ELG.396/T/28B,dated 24st August,2020, and with another thumbprint impression, signatures, typing characters, Received Stamp with signature and also claimed to be signed by one Mrs. Olabimtan F. Abiola, the Council Manager for Chairman, Egbedore Local Government,Awo with another attachment of Selection Minutes in favour of Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq formulated by Adegboyes as Exhibit B03 tendered in Suit N0:HED/26/2020. Attached as Evidence (4).

 

-The Certified True Copy of the Bond to Prosecute Appeal with Appeal N0:CA/AK/58/2021on Suit N0: HOS/84/2020, with another different signature of the Secretary, Abioye Ruling House/Compound, Awo, Osun State. Attached as Evidence (5).

-The Certified True Copy of the Affidavit of Statutory Declaration of Age dated 15th day of December,1999, deposed by one Rasheed Adegboye,the Senior Brother of Adegboye Taiwo,made from the Federal High Court, Osogbo Judicial Division, that Adegboye Taiwo was born on the 10th day of October,1980,attached to Expression of Interest Form N0:000000114. Attached as Evidence (6).

-The Certified True Copy of the West Africa Examination Senior School Certificate (WAEC-SSCE) of June 2001 with Certificate Number: NGWASSCS2682561, belonging to Adegboye Taiwo A. that was also born on another date of 8th day of August,1979 as embossed on the Certificate,attached to Expression of Interest Form N0:000000114. Attached as Evidence (7).

 

Sir, all these Certified True Copies of aforementioned documents were attached by Adegboye Taiwo Rasaq to his Expression of Interest Form Number: 000000114, to fill the vacant Stool of Alawo of Awo, which Egbedore Local Government, Awo, would have been paying him Five percent (5%) out of the monthly Allocation of the affected Local Government in Osun State.

 

We wish to further informed your authority that Honourable? Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq and his cohorts forged all these documents by misleading the State Government of Gboyega Oyetola to earlier approved his appointment with FORGERY documents/Minutes, FALSIFICATION of AGE, IDENTITY THEFT of Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate, before the Appeal Court Akure Judicial Division, through its landmark Judgement dated 8th day of August,2022, dethroned him.

And also, Adegboye Taiwo Rasaq forged all the aforementioned documents in his own favour and as well sitting at the comfort of his room in the year 2020 and writing the SELECTION MINUTES credited to Abioye Ruling House/Compound, Awo,because of his position then(2020) as Legislative Leader of Egbedore Local Government, Awo under platform of the ruling of All Progressives Congress (APC), without minding the legal DUE PROCESS attached to the selection of the new monarch in our legal society.

 

Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq as public office holder then acted in Contrary to Section (15) sub-section (5) that , ‘The State shall abolish all corrupt practices and abuse of power’ and anyone who encourages corruption in any form, deserve no honour.

 

Although, Adegboye Taiwo Rasaq is still parading himself as new Alawo after the Appeal Court Judgement with the same aforementioned forgery DOCUMENTS/MINUTES, FALSIFICATION of AGE, IDENTITY THEFT of Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate which necessitated this Petition Letter to State House Assembly for THOROUGH,CREDIBLE AND UNBIASED investigation and possible criminal prosecution of the culprits.

Moreso, we also want the State House of Assembly to help our human rights organization to investigate the identity of the owner of these names and Local Government Origin claimed on the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo’s National Diploma (ND)Notification of Results with Reference N0: SO1/MKT/2003/0354,awarded on 31st August,2005 and obtained on 10th August,2006 respectively and Higher National Diploma (HND) with Reference N0: SO1/ MKT/2003/0354,awarded on 31st July,2008 and obtained on 14th of November,2008 respectively and as well obtained Certificate of National Service of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) awarded on 19th of November,2009 and these are not having any bearing of the claimed identity of ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ, thereby making it suspicious of identity theft of Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate of another person.

 

It is very unfortunate that according to the claim of Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq,was that he changed his name from ‘ABUDULIE’ to ‘ABDULRASAQ’ after obtained the acclaimed NYSC Certificate by bearing ‘ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABUDULIE’ to obtain West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) in 2001 with Candidate No:4291121006 & Certificate No:NGWASSCS 2682561, National Diploma (ND)in 2005, Higher National Diploma (HND) in 2008 and NYSC Certificate in 2009 but changed his name to contest for Alawo Stool from “ABUDULIE’ to “ABDULRASAQ” and this suspicious of identity theft which means he does not know his real ‘MUSLIM’ name before he went to the Polytechnic and as well observed a year MANDATORY National Youth Service Corps(NYSC).This is smelling to be a pure issue of another criminal forgery with identity theft by Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq and also shown that his late twins brother was the real owner of the name and WAEC-SSCE CERTIFICATE, Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate bearing ‘ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABUDULIE’, while the present person who is illegally vying to occupy the stool of Alawo of Awo is bearing “ADEGBOYE KEHINDE ABDULRASAQ” because the twins brothers look alike. “THIS IS A BIG IDENTITY THEFT OF THE YEAR?”

 

Even, the Polytechnic Notification of National Diploma (ND) Result and Higher National Diploma (HND) Result awarded and obtained at different years respectively bearing the same Reference N0: SO1/MKT/2003/0354, which implies that Adegboye Taiwo Abudulie(ABDULRASAQ) was admitted to study both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma(HND) by Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo, Ondo State, at the same year 2003.

Other DOCUMENTS attached as EVIDENCES of FORGERY and IDENTITY THEFT are highlighted as follows:

-The Certified True Copy of National Diploma (ND) obtained on 31st August,2005 and also awarded on 10th August,2006 with Reference N0: SO1/MKT/2003/0354,attached to Expression of Interest Form N0:000000114. Attached as Evidence (11)

Sir, the fundamental question now is that who is bearing ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABUDULIE and ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABDULRASAQ?

It is also pertinent to know the Local and State Government Origin claimed by the owner(ADEGBOYE TAIWO ABUDULIE) with the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND)Notification of Results awarded and obtained from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo,Ondo State from this institution so as to affirm whether the person is from ancient town of Awo in Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State or not.

 

Sir, this is to inform your good office that Mr. Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq was imposed on the Stool by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola on 13th of September,2021 because Adegboye was strong member of the then ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State, apart from alleged forgery scandal but with wrong law of 1957 Declaration instead of subsisting 1979 Registered Alawo of Awo Chieftaincy Declaration and in flagrant disobedience to Court Orders with Appeal Court Judgement.

It is our believe that the State House of Assembly would perform its legitimate and constitutional duty without fear or favour, no matter whose ox is gored to unveil the criminal tendency of the culprits.

 

In view of the above,these are the names of the persons involved in the dastard act of FORGERY of SELECTION DOCUMENTS, and other illegalities in respect of Alawo Chieftaincy Stool as contained in this PETITION LETTER as follows:

(3). Mr. Adegboye Rasheed (+2348034350362),a Senior Brother to Adegboye Taiwo of Abioye Ruling House/Compound,Awo,who deposed to Affidavit of Statutory Declaration of Age of Adegboye Taiwo in December 15th,1999 at the Federal High Court, Osogbo Judicial Division.

(4).Mrs. Abiola F. Olabimtan (+2348032249644),Council Manager (C.M.), Egbedore Local Government, Awo, Osun State- OBSERVER of FORGERY SELECTION DOCUMENTS with different signatures and thumbprints.

Sir, the aforementioned Senior Staff of Egbedore Local Government, Awo, acted in contrary to Sections 15(5),24(a),172,209, and Fifth Schedule,Part 1(1,8,&9),11(1),12,13, and 18(1,3,6,&7) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ( as amended) in consonance with Chapter II(15) of the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The aforementioned officials of the Local Government could be invited for questioning through an invitation LETTER to the Permanent Secretary,Osun State Local Government Service Commission (OSLGS), Government Secretariat,Abeere, Osun State,to answer the call of the anti-graft agency.

 

More over Sir, the position of the Supreme Court of Nigeria,is cleared in the case of PDP & 2 Ors. V. Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieyo & 3Ors.-SC.1/2020.

And the position of the Apex Court of the land,is also cleared without any ambiguity in line with Sections of the amended 1999 Constitution state succinctly stated that a person shall not be qualified for election/or selection to the position of authority, “ if he has presented a forged certificate to the Umpire .” and Section 467, Criminal Code Act (Nigeria) states that; “Any person who forges any document, writing, or seal, is guilty of an offence which, unless otherwise stated, is a felony, and he is liable if no other punishment is provided, to imprisonment for three(3) years.”

 

Recently, a five- man panel of the Supreme Court of Nigeria sacked a Federal Legislator from Benue State for Certificate forgery, Honourable Justice Sidi Bage, who read the lead judgement spoke a soothing language of hope, that ;”Allowing criminality and Certificate forgery to continue to percolate into the streams ,waters and oceans of our National polity/Chieftaincy Stool, will only mean that our waters are and will remain dangerously contaminated. The purification efforts must start now and be sustained as we seek as a nation, to now change from our old culture of reckless impunity.

 

Justice Bage went further: ” The Nigerian Constitution is supreme. It desires that no one who has ever presented a FORGED Certificate to an umpire should contest election (selection) into the any elective office (including Chieftaincy Stool office in this regard). This is clear and sacrosanct.

 

Bage stressed further that the message is simple, we are bound to continue to fail as a nation if we do not sanitize our political/traditional institutions by fearlessly getting rid of those individuals whose actions have become our development albatross.

However, the fate of many Nigerians has been strengthened by the strong and firm declaration and reassurance of the Apex Court of the Land that has come down hard on those consciously slowing down our development through forgery, falsification, perjury and other related offences.

This is high time to name and shame anybody who involved in forgery of documents to occupy a position of authority like subject matter of this PETITION LETTER by just robbed other contender as COMMON CRIMINAL.

 

It is very unfortunate that some certain elements like acclaimed Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq to be entrusted with Chieftaincy Stool, indulge in forgery, perjury, identity theft and falsification of age and these are ordinary citizen that should be leading by an example of what a good society should be.

Moreover, Honourable? Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq perpetrated all these evil acts of FORGED Selection Documents/Minutes, Identity THEFT of Polytechnic Notification of Results and NYSC Certificate, FALSIFICATION of Age, and other dastard act in respect of SELECTION, ELECTION,APPOINTMENT,APPROVAL and SUBSEQUENT INSTALLATION of new Crown Prince for the Alawo Chieftaincy Stool, all in the name of desperation to outsmart the second contender for the STOOL in person of Comrade (Prince) ADENIYI ALIMI SULAIMAN,the Executive Chairman,Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ).

 

As a human rights organization with respect for the rule of law,as stipulated in the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and criminal code that the criminal action can be instituted against any COMMITTER at anytime except those who elected into the EXECUTIVE positions in the Country where they are covered by Section 308 of the amended 1999 Constitution pending the time of expiration of holding such an office.

So, if the State Government under Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke would do any coronation in this respect,the Apex Court,that is Supreme Court of Nigeria should have allowed to say otherwise on the subsisting Appeal Court Judgement in respect of Alawo Chieftaincy Stool.

 

Lastly Sir,we will conclude this PETITION LETTER with the imperishable statement that Adegboye Taiwo Abdulrasaq is a desperate office seeker who is only interested in self serving, and does not mind if the entire Awo community goes up in flames,so long as his own nest is fested.Of course, history is replete with cases of Princes who have destroyed their kingdom for selfish aggrandizement.

In the light of foregoing, the Centre humbly request for the prompt intervention of your good office on the subject matter.

Once again, CHRSJ reposes its implicit confidence in your capability to expedite necessary ACTION in a JIFFY, based on your track record as unbiased LEGISLATURE that earned your recent election to lead the State House of Assembly that you will ensure the FAIR PLAY and JUSTICE are done for the citizens of the State in respective of religion and class.
