Ilorin Muslims on their insistence to use Hijab in Christian mission schools

Ilorin Muslims on their insistence to use Hijab in Christian mission schools

Pertinent question to Ilorin Muslims on their insistence to use Hijab in Christian mission schools:

There are at least six categories of Schools in Kwara State as listed below:

  1. General public schools fully owned by the State Government;
  2. Grant aided community schools founded by various community development unions;
  3. Private Schools founded by individuals;
  4. Grant aided Christian Mission Schools founded by churches.
  5. Grant aided Islamic schools founded by Muslim groups
  6. Madrasat Schools which are purely Islamic and Arabic schools for which the Kwara State government has a separate board different from the regular official boards regulating education in Kwara State and this is done in recognition of the need to allow for the full practice of Islamic tenets in those schools.

The Christian mission schools and particularly the Christian theological institutions which is suppose to be an equivalent of that did not have a board of their own yet despite the request for that already placed before the government of Kwara state.

It thus implies that since the Muslims of Kwara Srate have several options of schools where they can wear Hijab and fully practice their faith; why the insistence of doing so in Christian Mission Schools.

It may further interest the general public to note that the Kwara State government listed about 30 Schools for renovation under the current administration and not a single Christian mission School is included. Find the list below that included all other categories of schools listed above except Christian mission schools.

The Christians proprietors knew that all these were going on but accepted to take up the responsibility of maintaining standard in our school that the Muslims are now trying to employ atrocious means to take over.
