My blood pressure reads 133/90, is this too high?

Why can't high blood pressure be cured?

My blood pressure reads 133/90, is this too high? I have been feeling dizzy all week. When should I begin to worry?

Amy Chai responds;

They call high blood pressure, “The Silent Killer” for one reason: the reason is that you don’t feel high blood pressure. So chances are good that any symptoms you are having are not ever due to high blood pressure.

The exception to this general rule of silent and symptom-less high blood pressure is, “malignant” or “accelerated” high blood pressure, which may cause headaches, chest pains, and general unwellness. So if your blood pressure is not like 200/100 or something, it is doubtful that you are feeling any symptom from it at all.

Your blood pressure reading is not concerning.

It is a great idea, though, to periodically check your blood pressure, and if you start getting consistently high pressures or “very” high pressures, to get checked out. It is also a great idea to not smoke, not drink alcohol, not do drugs, lose weight, exercise, avoid extra sodium, and have good genes.

Hope you feel better. If you feel dizzy, well, you can always go get checked out.
