The ICC goes further to call Mr Stephen Nnadi as an imposter.
In a statement signed by Ikenna ONUOHA, Mnip – ICC State Publicity Secretary; Hon. Gabriel N. Roland – ICC State Chairman and Hon. Amadichi Chike Divine – ICC Convener, Worldwide, the group says “Mr. Stephen Nnadi has no relationship with the group or got any authorization to speak on behalf of the group.”
Recall the Hope Uzodinma administration accused Emeka Ihedioha of siphoning N19.63 billion from the accounts of the 27 local government areas of the state.
The discovery and uncovering of the alleged missing funds was contained in the audit report by the Auditor General of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, which covered the period under review, May 29 – December 31, 2019, the seven months Ihedioha held office.
According to the report, the payments for contracts of purchase of earth moving equipment and others allegedly not executed were made by the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA), then from the State and Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC).
Mr Stephen Nnadi, made a statement on the Community Watchdog Newspapers of Thursday 14th May, 2020 with regards to the alleged looted N19.63 Billion LGA Funds by Ihedioha, currently undergoing probe, contrary to the ideology of the ICC and also claimed to be a member.
“The attention of members of Board of Trustees of Imo Concerned Citizens (ICC) have been drawn to a callous statement by one Mr. Stephen Nnadi who criminally impersonated the National Coordinator of the above body and published on the Community Watchdog Newspapers of Thursday 14th May, 2020 with regards to the alleged looted N19.63 Billion LGA Funds currently undergoing probe.”
“Obviously, in our usual dignified silence, Imo Concerned Citizens (ICC) would have ignored the said reckless outburst from the impostor, but considering the fact that the deceitful comment was meant to divert attention of gullible individuals, the record is hereby set straight.”
“The truth of the matter is that the purported statement does not emanate from Imo Concerned Citizens ICC Worldwide or from any of her representative whatsoever. The said Mr. Stephen Nnadi has no relationship with the group or got any authorization to speak on behalf of the group.”
“It is on the record that Imo Concerned Citizens is a registered non partisan pressure group seeking to promote good governance in Imo State and is working assiduously to support every government’s probe to ascertain the rate of financial mismanagement by previous administrations.”
“It thereby becomes so worrisome for an individual claiming to represent the interests of Imolites to turn around to stand brief for parties mentioned in the probe who are rather expected to clarify their positions and present facts to support same.”
“While members of ICC are utilizing their contacts to identify and apprehend the impostor, discussions are ongoing with our legal advisers to know the next line of action to adopt against the impersonator for using the name of our organization to spread falsehood.”
“As security agents have been briefed to apprehend the said Mr Nnadi, the public is advised to see the statement as part of the handiwork of mischief makers to paint ICC black, and as well appealed to ignore the said comment.”
