DJ Cuppy, one of the three daughters of Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola has argued otherwise, saying her success is not solely due to the doors her dad opened for her.
She gives insight to the reasons she’s successful at what she’s doing and it has nothing to do with the doors her dad opened for her.
“Afterall, my dad cannot DJ for me!” She says.
DJ Cuppy explained that as a business woman no matter how many doors are opened for you, its only your skill and delivery that can keep you in those doors.
She added that though connections are great, without hard work those connections will not yield to fruition.
Like Davido, in his early days, Cuppy has been getting her fair share of “nah your papa moni, a begi!” And fair enough, it takes only a pure hater to say to say she hasn’t tried as an individual.
DJ Cuppy announced her arrival into the Nigerian music industry with “Green Light” featuring Tekno, may have been somehow, but the song can still be rocked in many open minded places today.
And then, her recent album and debut, “Original Cuppy” was all she needed to claim her title. That kudos must be given.

Concluding, she advised people to hone their skills and be ready for opportunities as they can come at any moment.
She concluded by saying that its not about people opening the doors for you, its about you delivering.
