Senator Uche Ekwunife, PDP Governorship as aspirant in Anambra State has declared war on the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)
Ekwunife who is representing Anambra Central described the governorship election in the state for 2021 as war.
APGA, the states ruling party is led by Willie Obiano who seems to be getting unpopular daily.
She says she is the best candidate so far and her major battle is to remove the ruling APGA from the Anambra State Government House.
Uche Ekwunife bragged while addressing the party’s ward chairmen about her ambition, described herself as the best and most qualified to lead the battle to defeat APGA in the state.
She says, “This election is war; this is not ordinary election, we are going to battle to remove the party in power, and when you are going for such battle, you don’t need your second best, but your best. We cannot put our best on the bench.”
Iyom, as she is popularly hailed, recently declared her ambition to run as Governor of Anambra state, with wide acceptability, she might also become the first Female Governor in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Political supporter of the senator, K. Nweze Agajelu says,
The declaration by Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) on 19th June, 2020 to run for the Governorship of Anambra State come 2021 has been greeted with wild jubilation in Anambra State by both indigenes and residents at home and in the diaspora. History is about to be made once again in Anambra State. A state that is known for firsts, this time around, will be making another first to elect the first female Governor in Nigeria.
This great project is premised on two precepts which many of us have seen in this Amazon. Firstly, is the capacity to succeed even in the face of difficult odds while secondly, the penchant for good governance which has been seen in her representations both in the House of Representatives and currently in the Senate.
Recently, she was nominated by the PDP as member of Edo Gubernatorial Primary Electoral Committee to elect the Party’s Flagbearer for the upcoming 2020 Governorship Election in the State.

The exercise is scheduled for Thursday June 25, 2020 in Benin City, Edo State.
